The BYD Tang made its first official appearance in Europe last year and enjoyed a warm welcome from electric car enthusiasts.
Its German market price of around 72,000 euros reflects both its advanced technological features and its premium quality.
With a length of 4,870 mm, a width of 1,950 mm and a height of 1,725 mm, the Tang impresses with its generous dimensions. The 2,820 mm wheelbase and a 235-litre boot, expandable to 1,655 litres, provide enough space to meet the needs of a large family.
Inside, the car has three rows of seats, offering a total of seven seats, in a flexible 2+3+2 arrangement, with the notable mention that all these seats can be used by adult passengers.
State-of-the-art technology is the order of the day aboard Tang.
The driver will feel surrounded by a high-tech atmosphere, with a 12.3-inch tablet in front of him and a central 12.8-inch touchscreen. The central screen can be rotated to facilitate operations with the infotainment system, providing an extremely comfortable driving experience.
What makes the BYD Tang a truly impressive electric SUV is its generous range of 400 kilometers according to the WLTP standard and its estimated average consumption of just 23.8 kWh per 100 kilometers. This performance is thanks to the 86.4 kWh Blade technology LFP battery, designed to power two electric motors, located on each axle, thus giving the SUV all-wheel drive.
With a combined output of the two engines of 380 kW (517 hp) and a maximum torque of 680 Nm, the BYD Tang boasts an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. Top speed is limited to 180 km/h, while providing a safe and controlled driving experience.
As for the charging time, it varies depending on the electrical outlet used. With a 120kW DC fast charging point, the Tang can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, providing a quick and convenient solution for drivers.
Chinese company BYD is expanding its presence in the European market and considering local production of electric cars, confirming that the Han sedan, Tang SUV and Atto 3 crossover will be available in these countries starting this year.
This move is part of a massive global expansion plan targeting countries such as Scandinavia, Germany, Benelux, UK and Israel.
An exciting news for the Romanian car market is that the new BYD Tang has arrived on our streets!
With 7 seats, an LFP Blade battery guaranteed for 600,000 kilometers and an impressive power of 517 HP, this electric SUV weighs 2.3 tons empty.
Some markets will also benefit from an LFP Blade battery variant of more than 105 kWh, which promises a range of more than 700 kilometers.
With all these impressive features, the BYD Tang proves to be a wise choice for those who want a reliable electric car with outstanding performance and a generous range.
With its expansion in Europe and its presence now also in Romania, BYD brings competitive options to electric car enthusiasts all over the world.
